The race

What is the Mini Derby?

The Mini Derby is a Derby-style fundraiser where miniature horses race. The 15th Annual Mini Derby is Saturday, May 1, 2027 at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas, and benefits Equestrian Bridges.

What is Lil' Derby Days?

Lil' Derby Days, presented by Sazerac, is the first season of events leading up to race day, running from November 2026 through the Mini Derby on May 1, 2027.

How does the live track work?

Once the 2027 Racehorse Owners draw their horses, each horse gets its own lane on the live track and gifts to its jockey move it forward in real time. You can try a preview with sample Stables on the How it works page.

Who wins the Mini Derby Cup?

The jockey and Stable with the highest total when standings lock on race day.

Racehorse Owners

Can I become a Racehorse Owner?

Yes. We are recruiting 6 Racehorse Owners for 2027. Each Owner commits to raising at least $15,000 for Equestrian Bridges. Every Owner starts with a conversation with Kelsey Phillips. Send your details from the Owners page.

What is the difference between an Owner and a jockey?

The Owner or Stable owns the horse for the season. The jockey leads the campaign. An Owner can also be the jockey.

When do Owners get their horses?

At the private Draw Party, each Owner draws their official Mini Derby horse.

Sponsors

How do sponsorships work?

There are five 2027 levels from $3,000, plus the Presenting Sponsorship held by Sazerac. Choose a level on the Sponsors page to commit, or send Kelsey your questions first.

What do sponsors receive?

Benefits vary by level and include Mini Derby tickets, event credentials, website, signage, program and social recognition, and Founding Partner recognition for Lil’ Derby Days.

Events and giving

When can I back a jockey?

Giving opens after the Draw Party, once the 2027 Owners and their horses are set. Until then, the track on this site is a preview.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Equestrian Bridges is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. A receipt is emailed for every gift. Please consult your tax advisor about deductibility.

When do race day tickets go on sale?

Ticket packages will be announced soon. Join the notification list on the Race day page.

Are all Lil’ Derby Days events open to the public?

No. The Starting Gate Party and the Draw Party are private, invitation-only campaign events. Starting Gate invitations are included with every 2027 sponsorship, and sponsors can request theirs from Kelsey Phillips at Kelsey@equestrianbridges.org. Lil’ Oaks Family Day and the Mini Derby are open events, and details are posted here as they are finalized.

What should I wear?

Derby attire: hats, seersucker, linen, florals and spring colors.
